Day 15 – Increase

Our Father is not a God of lack. He desires for us to live an abundant life full of everything we could ever need. There are several instances in the bible where the Lord provided overflow for his sons and daughters when they needed it most. Increase is a critical part of the spiritual circle of life, and God uses it as a tool to build his Kingdom. [2 Corinthians 9:10] Just think, if God can give you, as a Christian business owner increase, how it can benefit followers of Christ. When he increases your influence, you can proclaim the word of God to a larger audience. When he increases your finances, you can tithe and sow more into your church and Kingdom initiatives. When he increases your faith, you can decree and declare a thing and so shall it be, and when you have proven to be faithful and grateful with what God has granted you, your increase is around the corner. It is ok to desire more than what you currently have because when you have more, you can do more.

Increase is demonstrated in one of my favorite Bible stories in Matthew 14:13-21, Jesus feeds 5000. We know from this story that Jesus was headed to be alone to mourn the death of John the Baptist, but his followers heard where he was headed and traveled from many towns to see him so they could be healed. After some time everyone grew hungry, and the disciples wanted to send the people away so that they could buy food for themselves. But Jesus instructed his disciples to them saying “They do not need to go away, you give them something to eat”. [Matthew 14:16] The disciples responded that they only had five loaves of bread and two fish – they had no idea how they could feed an entire crowd of people with so little. Jesus told the disciples to bring the loaves and fish to him and instructed the crowds of people to have a seat in the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. He then broke the loaves into pieces and gave the bread to his disciples, who distributed it to the people. Everyone ate as much as they wanted and the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. About 5000 men, women, and children were fed in that day.

This parable is so rich because it outlines how God uses us, his disciples to feed his children. Jesus could have waved his hand and made bread fall out of the sky for everyone to eat, but he didn’t. He instructed his disciples to be the vessel to feed the families. The disciples brought Jesus all that they had and Jesus told the people to sit and wait – there are people assigned to your increase. He took what the disciples gave them and looked up toward heaven – through the blood of Jesus Christ, God is the source of all increase. Jesus gave the bread back to the disciples, and it was more than enough to feed everyone there, in fact, they had twelve baskets of leftovers after feeding over 5000 men, women, and children. It is time to submit your business, ministry, brand, nonprofit to God so that he may increase you to serve his people.

Most gracious heavenly father, I thank you for being my provider, a waymaker, a healer, and much more. I honor you, worship you, and lift up your heavenly and holy name. I acknowledge that my increase comes from you and that I shall never want. [Psalm 23:1]

For it is you who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food. You will provide and multiply my seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. [2 Corinthians 9:10]

Lord, I repent for not always being a good steward over my increase, I ask that you forgive me for mishandling what you have granted me.

May you father, the God of my ancestors, increase my business a thousand times and bless me as you have promised! [Deuteronomy 1:11]

Father, I vow to sow and give back to your Kingdom via my tithe and offering for your word says give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. [Luke 6:38]

Lord as I honor you with my wealth by giving to you first, will you bring overflow to my business. [Proverbs 3:9-10]

Lord, I ask that you increase my money, influence, resources, favor, grace, customers, products, and faith. May my business be planted in good soil to produce good crop and allow it to multiply thirty, sixty, and one hundred times [Mark 4:8]

Before the end of this year, father I ask that every seed I have sown be blessed and returned to me one hundredfold. [Genesis 26:12]

Father, I ask that the days to come will be filled with increase,  [Job 8:7] and that my family and I flourish. [Psalms 115:14]

In Jesus name I pray, Amen
